Our Story
Dove House founder Hannah personally guides customers through every stage of the bespoke process as well as in choosing pieces from our Vault to complement their wedding look. When choosing a stone, Hannah leverages Howard’s extensive knowledge of diamonds and valuable industry connections to provide Dove House clients with unparalleled access to diamonds at trade pricing.

When Hannah got engaged, she had a clear vision of her engagement ring, right down to the specific ratio of her emerald cut diamond.
It took three long months of navigating through all the noise and vague misinformation in the fine jewellery industry, confusing advice, outdated processes and limited female representation, to find her perfect stone.
After renting elegant diamond jewellery abroad for her wedding, Hannah finally decided it was time to turn her passion into her career having experienced first-hand the need for a modern and relatable shopping experience that speaks to today’s brides.
Combining her strategic mindset, developed through her background in digital advertising strategy and government digital policy analysis with her creative dream, Hannah took the next step and joined forces with Howard Taylor when creating Dove House. She continues to study at GIA to ensure she provides her clients with the most up-to-date industry understanding.

With a career spanning almost five decades, Howard Taylor has solidified his standing as a distinguished diamond merchant in London, dedicating his life’s work to the diamond industry.
Commencing his journey at the age of 17, Howard meticulously honed his craft through hands-on experience with some of the UK’s largest diamond cutters. His journey involved mastering the intricacies of grading, sorting, and extending beyond. Howard then went on to co-found Shepherd & Taylor in 1992.
Since its establishment, Shepherd & Taylor has exclusively focused on the wholesale diamond trade, serving numerous prestigious global retailers. Over the years, the company has amassed an impressive inventory of GIA Certified diamonds.
Dove House now proudly channels Howard’s wealth of expertise and long-cultivated relationships with diamond manufacturers worldwide to directly bring you the best stones on the market.
Craftsmanship
To uphold the highest standards we only entrust our small team of highly skilled craftsmen to create our jewellery pieces. They have each honed their expertise over decades, having crafted pieces for internationally acclaimed jewellery retailers. These dedicated craftsmen meticulously set each Dove House piece by hand, employing either modern optical setting techniques under a microscope or traditional setting methods, based on the specific requirements of the piece.
